Are rats diapers available in Australia?

I want to purchase some rat diapers for my two male rats, for when I let them run loose in my room. I'm kinda tired of them urinating on my books lol. Any suggestions or help is appreciated!
Answers:
im sure you can find them in any good pet shop
hahahaha rat diapers! thats so cute...
no we don't have them in AUS...havnt seen any (or heard of any) around here ...
I hereby humbly present thee with the Most Random Question of All Time award.
i have only had female rats who still do the same but maybe not as much or as often?? they pretty much find their spots where they will do it %26 keep doing it. when you live with rats...especially those that are lucky enough to run around...you will have to live with stuff like autographs as i call them all over. they love to chew on your sheets, books, papers, etc. they like to steal anything small %26 bring it back to their home. i have found some of the funniest piles of my own stuff stolen by my rats - pack rats!
the most important thing is to remember it is a rat %26 that some are better than others, but you will get frustrated at rare times. it is these times you must remember never to get too mad at it or scare it or hurt it! it is just a rat, but to me they are as cool as little tiny puppy dogs. unfortunately mine have not lived longer than 2-3 years average. i do think some of it is that they have had such free roam of things that they chewed up many unexpected things that may have shortened their lives a tiny bit?
they do all this chewing because their teeth are constantly growing %26 they need to grind them down or they will end up with major problems believe it or not.
you will really have to 'rat proof' your room as i call it. you have to get your books up on shelves for example to get them off their level. you may have to store your stuff in boxes too.
when you do all this...maybe you can leave little old face towels or something in the corner or somewhere where they like to go. Mine have loved to pee on those %26 then i get to throw away the majority of pee in one shot. so use old t-shirts or towels you don't mind trashing after.
they are just marking their territory - your room - as theirs %26 like some dogs who pee on every tree, bush, fence, etc., they enjoy doing the same ;)
unfortunately, i don't know of diapers, but i think you could be on to something...but, i think you better make them chew proof.
Peace!
Australia is a magical place. You can get anything here.

Are rats as sensitive to t.v.'s, vacuums, and such?

I am going to still need to vacuum, and watch T.V. ,and listen to music, and normal teen/human stuff. So when I get some rats, I will need to know how sensitive they are to sounds. Will they become stressed and upset like other rodents, or will they be okay? Thanks.
Answers:
i vacuum the room that i have my girls in everyday, they don't love it by any means but its done rather quickly. if i need to vacuum close to the cages, i just move them.
the television never bothered them as far as i can tell. i'm sure extremely loud music would drive them mad... but these are all things that i don't do around my girls. i play music at a moderate level (i can't "blast" my music, my son hates it!)
its not the noise its the vibration thats the problem
It depends on how loud the sound is... OWWW!
sorry about that my Little sister is bugging me again.
The vacuum won't bug them as long as you don;t suck them up in it. (cause who would like being sucked up in a vacuum?)
As for the TV just don't turn up the volume to loud or if you have to have it loud just move the rat cage in a quieter location.
Stop that!
Mom!

Hi my name is sandy i am her... ow stop that Paige! Your pinching me!
OWWW!
Ok
sorry about that again. my sister can be very annoying!
my boys get stressed out when there isn't a human voice near them so i leave the tv or the radio on when i go out. as for vacuuming just remove them from the room when you have to and they should be fine. i find that that sound scares my boys more than anything so i put them in another room and close the door so that they can hardly hear it.
Mine don't mind the TV but they don't like the vacuum and fire works and really loud noises

Are rats able to eat red cherries?

Answers:
Yes, rats can eat cherries, just don't let them eat the pits as
fruit seeds, pits, and kernels have cyanide and/or arsenic in them. Be specifically careful with peach, apricot and cherry pits.
A note on feeding red foods, like cherries, to rats. Do not be alarmed when you see red stools or red stain on your rats' bedding. Many a rat-keeper has nearly fainted at the sight of what looks like blood, but it's not, It's just the stain of the cherry juice. Same thing happens when you feed your rats strawberries, raspberries, and cooked kidney beans.
spazrats
"my life has gone to the rats"
yes mine do well they eat cheeries but jst to make sure check it out on the net
Yes, they also eat: apples, peaches, tomatoes, carambolas, bananas, pineapples and mangos, blueberries, figs, grapes, strawberries, lichees, Surinam cherry, loquat, and dates. However, they cant digest fruit well, it is better to give them veggies instead. My rats enjoy them. If I give them any non-organic produce, I peel it after I wash it. They only get pieces of cherry, as I'm not sure whether the pits have any harmful alkaloids and Im pretty sure a rat could break into a cherry pit with no problem.

Hope I helped!!
Rodents can eat most types of fruit, but it is not the best for them. It is better to give them veggies instead. Even small bits of cooked meat once in a while is okay.
sure...in small amounts.
Our rats enjoy them. If I give them any non-organic produce, I peel it after I wash it. They only get pieces of cherry, as I'm not sure whether the pits have any harmful alkaloids or whatever %26 obviously a rat could break into a cherry pit with no problem.
YUP RATS CAN EAT CHERRIES OR ANY OTHER FRIUT
yes they can eat almost everything we can
Yes, I think, not wild ones though

Here is a partial list of things I know they will eat:
apples
apple tree bark
pears
pear tree bark
peaches
peppers
potatoes
tulip bulbs
tomatoes
lady's slipper roots
seeds of any kind...grass seed, pumpkin seeds etc.
oats
corn
wheat
black beans
white beans
navy beans
kidney beans
peas
bread
cookies (Oreos... if they can get them...)
olive oil
corn oil
walnuts
peanuts
almonds
macadamia nuts
chestnuts
macaroni (cooked or uncooked)
dog foods (a favorite because it is somewhat of an antidote to some mouse
poisons...BUT NOT FOR HUMANS!)
cat foods
I would write more but my brain is tired. Yes, everything is safe!
Hope I helped!!
Our rats have eaten just about everything -
eggs, bacon, canned peas, candy canes, cooked spagetti (favorite) and raw, carrots, ice cream, cookies, and potato chips.
Yup, just about everything.

Are rat diseases contagious to humans?

i had 4 rats...the one died mysteriously and then they ate her. apparently she was sick and they are now all sick with whatever she had. they have black fingernails...and redness under the eyes..they are all sneezing.
i'm assuming they are going to die...i'm not very happy about this but they've been getting worse over the past 2 days and are really skinny and sick and i don't know what to do...
should i be concerned about my own health or does some body know what's wrong?
Answers:
wont affect humans but next you should quarantine the sick rat if she seems ill to avoid this the next time
It won't affect humans, but those rats really need some medical care.
Yes!
Don't worry about getting something from them. They get diseases like myco, very specific.
It is a normal for rats to eat a dead one. This is why. Many things like to eat rodents, and If you were afraid a fox, for example was going to find your home you wouldn't want it to smell like a dead decomposing animal, even if he was your best buddy.
Seems cruel but it's instinct. You wouldn't want your home to smell like that even If you didn't have to worry about predators.
What you need to do is to get your Other 3 fur-babies to the vet Now! They go down hill quickly and Will die if you don't get them help!
If you have an animal friend, he trusts you for his care.
He is domesticated. He is a pet.
He can't get medical care without you.
He may be in a lot of Pain!
You would want him to do the same for you if the roles were reversed.
Until you can get them to the Vet start trying to give them Pedialite. They have to be kept hydrated. If you can't get them this then watered down Gator-Aide might help. There are some herb teas that will help.
Please try to save your little Friends. They are sentient Beings. They are as intelligent as a 3 year old Child.
They Love You.
They Trust You!
Good luck for You and I'm gonna be praying for your precious little ones.
Why the hell would you eat a dead rat do you live in a carbage can jesus christ!
They are sneezing because of a disease called mycoplasmis which is a asthma like sickness in rats it is not contagious.
the redness under/in the eyes is normal in small amounts its just discharge, and sometimes caused by accidentally scratching their eyes.
the blackness under their nails can be caused by bumble foot (a disease caused by wires on the bottom of their cage, if you have wires on the bottom of the cage you might want to put a piece of cardboard or cloth over it) OR dirt. bumble foot isn't contagious either. meanwhile your rats may have another disease that may eventually lead to death meanwhile you can: offer him/her yummy foods such as: cream of wheat, baby food, oatmeal with honey, ice cream, whipped cream. thier may be another possibility that they are dehydrating so you can: offer them ensur or boost they love it and it will help the.. if you think they are in pain offer them: infant tylonol or motrin and give them a few drops. Hope my info helps, I am so soory for your rats, if you need more info emial this person: PharohEL@aol.com

Are rabbits nocturnal??

my rabbit doesn't seem as active during the day it is at night
Answers:
Rabbits are nocturnal animals and most of their activity takes place at night.
If your bun is an indoor rabbit and is keeping you up at night place the cage in another room where it won't disrupt anyone, ie. the laundry room.
If your rabbit is housed outside the noise should not be an issue unless the hutch is located under a window. Again, if the noise is a problem, move the hutch.
There is not much else you can do, it is their nature. Toys provided in the cage may help increase the activity in the day and if those increase the noise at night, remove the toys every evening.
they are not nocturnal and they're not rodents either, they're lagomorphes.
Rabbits are actually "crepuscular", meaning they are most active in the twilight hours of both sunrise and sunset.
Rabbits are actually "crepuscular", meaning they are most active in the twilight hours of both sunrise and sunset.
This is because before becoming domesticated, rabbits evolved as a prey species for thousands of years. Evolutionarily it was safest for rabbits to leave the safety of their burrow and forrage for food in the transition between day and night when the light is dim. This is the time when nocturnal (night) predators such as owls can't see well because of too much light, and when diurnal (day) predators such as foxes, can't see well because it is too dark. Smart bunnies!
YES! But the rabbit does not make much sound in a cage except for the thumping when it hops around in it's cage or it chewing. But on top of it all rabbits are angels!

Are Rabbits Easy To Take Care Of?

Answers:
Not really. They're harder to take care of than cats, sometimes as much work as a dog. They're not the low-maintenance pets people assume they are, which means many wind up in shelters only a few months later.
This site has lots of info on taking care of rabbits!
http://www.rabbit.org/
Yes and no, try not to get more then one at first or you'll have baby rabbits everywhere. Also get a rabbit cage and not another cage, this why thier droppings full to a removable tray and not stay and pile up where your rabbit sleep and hop.
I thought our rabbit was easy to take care of. We trained him to poop in a pan with kitty litter and cleaned it out once a week. We had a ramp that led to the floor from his cage so he could get out and play. We bought him good veggies and rolled oats that we supplemented the rabbit food with. He was our guard bunny - when something strange was going on outside at night he would thump and let us know there was a problem.
Not at all. They are very high maintenance.
My boyfriend and I "babysat" his sister's rabbit for about 6 months. You have to feed them EVERYDAY, they like to chew on things they shouldn't (even if you buy them things to chew on), they shed a lot, and they go to the bathroom a lot. If you potty train them to go in a litter box, they are easier to clean up after...but you have to do it often or it will get stinky.
If you don't mind a lot of maintaining, than go for it. But, if you are looking for a pet that's a little easier to take care of I wouldn't recommend a bunny even though they are really adorable!
i wouldnt call it "easy"
Rabbits aren't easy, but they aren't hard to take care of. I have over 50 rabbits and don't consider them high maintence. You have to feed and water them daily, but don't give them lettuce or anything to green or it could give them diahrea. If you have a tray underneath them you should probably dump it at least once a week or before it gets to full, or if you have a hutch with no tray then you don't have to clean them out as often but you still have to clean them out enough to keep it from smelling or getting to dirty. I don't think there much more work then cats because you have to feed and water them daily and if their house cats you have to change the litter box too.
Rabbits make great pets, even if it's a little work, but their worth it all in the end!!
they are in a way. i like them though because they pay you back with love. i would get one if i was yu then if i liked it i would get another
Yes. Here's what you've got to do. clean the cage every other day, feed it, change out the water when it is getting old or when it's getting low, and then make sure it has something to chew on.

yes
Unfortunately because of their teeth and the fact that they need to gnaw etc they are considered rodents.. however my bunny will always be my bunny. No way is he like a rat! :)
Yes. "Bright Eyes" is a rodent.
No, they belong to a different order of mammals. You are close though. You were just a hare off. They belong to the order 'Lagamorpha'. If you have another question about rabbits, I am all ears. I would love to answer it as soon as my nose stops twitching. I will really hop to it.
Nope. they are not. Rodents have two front teeth. Bunnies have four.
They are Lagomorphs. From order lagomorpha not rodenta.
Perhaps people get 'rodent' and 'vermin' mixed up.
Rabbits are Lapines, not rodents.
Nope
Rabbits and hares were formerly classified in the order Rodentia (rodent) until 1912, when they were moved into a new order Lagomorpha.

No. Rabbits have their own classification called lagomorphs.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/lagomorpha...
To be precise, rabbits are Lagomorpha. Lagomorpha are an order of mammals of which there are two (2) families, Leporidae (hares and rabbits), and Ochotonidae (pikas).
Though members of order Lagomorpha can resemble rodents (order Rodentia), and were classified as a superfamily in that order until the early twentieth century, they have since been considered a separate order. For a time it was common to consider the lagomorphs only distant relatives of the rodents, to whom they merely bore a superficial resemblance; however, genetic studies have since shown that, while still distinct from rodents, they are indeed very closely related after all.
YES!!
Nope. Rabbits are in a group called lagomorphs
Nope langomorphs
In a way yes
no they arent. they are lagomorphs. "Run..Rabbit" aparently doesnt know anything about rabbits
Actually when rabbits first came out into the world they were said to had been from the rodent family (for those others that don't seem to know what they are talking about). They are very good pets and they can easily be litter trained.

i think so
No. Rabbits have their own classification called lagomorphs.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/lagomorpha...
Not officially though we call our rabbit a rodent ;)
No, rabbits are not rodents. Although they have their similarities, bunnys belong to the lagamorpha family. This family also contains hares and pikas.
Lagamorphs are different from rodents. Rodents are obnivores, but lagamorphs are herbivores. Look carefully at a bunnys teeth, and you will find that instead of two regular teeth on the top of it's mouth, you will see four long and skinny teeth. This is the same with the other members of the lagamorph family.
It is still ok to ask rabbit questions in the rodent section, though. I do, even though I know they are not rodents, because I usually get more answers than if I asked it in the general pet section.
Hope this Helped!

Are possum's dangerous?

Do they bite or cause harm even if they are left alone?
Answers:
more to house pets
They are not a dangerous animal, but if you handle them they can give you a very nasty bite which could get infected. The only harm they cause is they like to eat flowers, and fruit. They are also very territorial,If you have one in your yard, he will keep others away. Please do not remove them and take them to the bush, they die if moved from their home.
a possum will usually play dead until it is safe and they are left alone. They really don't do much as far as posing a treat.
Opossums are the only marsupials (they carry their young in a pouch) found in the U.S. Their best defense is "playing possum" or pretending to be dead. However, when cornered, they can bite or attack. (If you get too close, they have a scarey sounding hiss). They do carry diseases, which are especially dangerous to horses. They can be a nuisance in the city because they like to get in trash cans and make a big mess. They are considered a pest in New Zealand because they do a lot of damage to their trees. Overall, however I wouldn't consider opossums to be dangerous.
Possums are a mixed bag. Generally not a harmful creature, but can deliver a nasty bite. Sad thing about it is, they are so dumb, they can forget they are biting you, so they won't let go. However, they only attack if they are absolutely threatened. Every possum I've ever met though hasn't been "evil", and actually pretty tame.
The cool thing is they can't HAVE rabies. Their body temperatures are too low. They can still carry it, but they can't HAVE it.
yea dude i got chaced by one of those f...ers but thats cuz i waz f...ing with it... but yea u can never tell with a wild animal...call animal control just to be safe...
not all of them are...my friend Dustin had a pet possum
Possums are cool. We use to go to an old country church that was infested with them. If you come upon one it will first try to run, then stop and hiss, finally they play dead. The guys would just wait until they played dead then pick them up by the tail and take them to the woods behind the church and toss them into the brush. They actually hang from their tails from the rafters of sheds or tree branches. They love to raid garbage cans, so you have to keep them covered. If they get too frightened, they do die. And they don't carry rabies like skunks or raccoons, but they can bite. Amazing creatures. Nothing to be afraid of though. They don't attack and never bite as long as you don't handle them much.
If wild. My aunt has 2 of them. They are pretty neat!

Are Petsmart gerbils male or female?

I am planning on getting a pair of gerbils this summer. I've been reading about them on the AGS website and I think that I'm ready to get a pair of females.
I really, really would like to get them from a breeder, but there aren't any breeders in my area (Kansas).
I think that I will have to get them from Petsmart, even though I hate to support big pet stores like that.
My question is this: I haven't been able to get to the petstore lately. Does anyone know if the gerbils that Petsmart carries are male, female, or both? Also--how much do they cost?
Thanks!
Answers:
Well IDK bout the genders, but last time I checked they range from $40- $60. That was at a specialty pet store, so they might be cheaper at Petsmart.
It depends on what store you have, some have male rodents some female never both do to breeding. You would have to call that store to find out which they have. And they might be 6.99 maybe?
My friend went the other day and said they only had male hamsters and gerbils. It ma have been just that store, but she also lies a lot! She's trying to get me to get a gerbil instead of a hamster so I think that's another reason as to why she said that. So, I'm not to sure if this helped, but good luck! About the prices, well I think they range from $15-$25
call petsmart and ask them that way you know if they have what you want for the price you want it. that is what i would do.
I have a pair of female gerbils myself, and PetSmart is NOT the place to go. Just to get a set of gerbils plus the cage, food and the bedd ing and accessories it is about $120 at PetSmart. Pet Co only costs like $50 for everything. the gerbils are about $6 a peice where I live.
So remember that and you will be okay.
((HINT)) If your gerbils fight when you first get them in the same cage, that is totally natural. so don't worry. give it about 2 hours and they'll sleep together.
Good Luck With Your New Gerbils,
Danielle
ask the person there if its male or female. aslo gerbils cost about 10$ to 20$
Each petsmart store only carries one sex of each species. You need to call the store and find out whether they carry male or females. If they have males try the next closest store. You have a 50-50 chance that they will have the gender you're looking for! Good luck. : )
Each petsmart store only carries one sex, so you would have to call your petsmart to find out which sex they carry, I think they used to be about $7 when I worked there. We used to get some very pretty colors in.
A word of advice, dont waste time on a plastic cage like a habitrail or similar, gerbils are voracious chewers and will chew out of it in time. Your best bet is a plain either 10 gallon or 20 gallon long aquarium with a very secure metal mesh lid. I have known of gerbils to rub their noses raw in wire cages. Also stay far, far away from cedar shavings for their bedding, it can cause respiratory problems in them.
I had 5 gerbils that came from petsmart after a customer put a rat in with the gerbils and it bit off their tails, they have since changed the setup so that cant happen again. but the 5 females lived together in a large aquarium for a few years. they had a wire mesh wheel, to run in and a bell brand water bottle with a metal hanger. they never managed to chew through the bell bottle but they went through five or six regular water bottles before i finally figured it out.
Good luck and have fun with your gerbils!
Like others have said, it's different for each store. They either have one or the other, never both ( unless they have a shipping error and get on by mistake, which gets kept alone in the back untill moved to another store or sold )
At PetSmart gerbils are $9.99 doesnt matter which sex they are.
As for the quality, you can tell how well the animals are taken care of in the store. Just go in and look at them, then talk to some of the pet specialists in the store, ask them some questions about them. You can usually tell right away if they know what they are doing or not.
I have worked in a few different PetSmarts, and most of them actually took excelent care of their animals, they only hired people who knew what they were doing.
If you still don't want to get them from PetSmart, get ahold of a few different breeders, try to fine ones closest to Kansas and talk to them about shipping...a lot of them are willing to ship, you just have to pay cost.
I hope this helps...GOOD LUCK!

Are petsmart adoption places good to get ginnie pigs from??

there is one less than 40 min away and iwas thinkin if they have ginnie's i would get them from there.but i dont wanna make my mom go all that way.does anyone have a clue?
Answers:
Ok, I will explain the whole chain of things for everyone who wants to know how this works.
First a breeder (and we are talking about show breeders for this instance we will talk alittle bit about pet breeders in a min) sells their culls to a pet broker. When the animals leave the breeder (depending on who they are, they are generally very healthy as they have just been weaned from mom.) There is typically nothing wrong with these piggies, the breeder just doesn't think it is show quality or lets say good enough to win on the table at a show. The pet broker then usually holds the pigs in a big bin with other pigs until a pet smart or petco has room and then they are shipped to them. This is alot of stress for a baby to go through and the brokers main key is moving the stock, not the care of the babies, this is where disease happens. The other instance is pet breeders, whos only goal is to produce babies and make a couple bucks a piece for them. I visited a pet breeder in Salem the other day and the conditions were deplorable! Some of the breeders where missing eyes and ears but still producing babies. They then sell to a pet broker and we are back there again. With this being said, I wouldn't buy a pig at any store!! I am sure I will get flamed for this, but if you are REALLY wanting a great quality healthy piggie, you should find a show breeder and purchase a wee one or a retired breeder from them, plus the cost is usually around $10 which is way cheaper than the $33 they charge here... They HAVE to take care of their piggies in order to win on the table, so they are usually feed the best quality food, and cared for very well, plus they are handled alot in most instances. This is the TRUTH!! The other GREAT alternative if you are uncomfortable with the show breeder thing is to find a great rescue who has their piggies vet check, and to ADOPT! Adoption fees are around $25 still cheaper than the pet stores.
im not really sure...but i heard that petsmart isnt a good place to get a pet and neither is there vet/groomers
but dont listen to no1 ..
go see it yourself and if you like it ..
i dont see anything wrong with getting it
PetSmart is a good place to get guinea pigs. They have all their animals checked by a vet and certify them. Plus PetSmart allows the Animal Shelters to hold adoptions for dogs and cats who would otherwise be put down. I bought a bird from PetSmart and they are very thorough in their care and feeding of their available pets. And they do have some really cute guinea pigs available. The people there are quite knowledgable about the animals and willing to assist you with any of your questions.
That's where I got my 2 guinea pigs, Bart and Mouse, from.
Bart's a very good guinea pig, but I think something might be wrong with Mouse's Eye or he might be sick. So it's a 50-50 chance of you getting a good one.
I don't think there's anything wrong with that. There's tons of animals there, just like petco up for adoption. I would say if you see one you like, go for it.
I have seen all sorts of animals go home there, and all of the people who adopted them seemed like great people.
Good luck with your new guinea pig!
I don't know about guinea pigs, but Petsmart in Lexington, KY is a wonderful animal place! I got two cats (humane soc. adoptions-Mickey %26 Malory) and my pet rat (a sweetheart named Miss Whiskers) there, and they were smart %26 healthy! Petsmart had gotten a bad rap lately from PETA, but my experience has been great! Their grooming is top notch, too-the only place I'll take my golden retriever (Goldilocks) after a terrible experience at another groomer. Good luck!
I would not recommend buying a pig from a pet store, especially Petco or Petsmart. They may *tell* you that they take care of their small animals %26 they are all checked by vets. This, sadly, is not the case. Most pigs bought from pet stores have Upper Respiratory Infections, parasites, or both.
Please consider adopting a piggie or two from a local shelter or rescue. A reputable rescue will have already quarantined their pigs for illness or parasites and your chances of getting a healthy pig are superb. You can find a shelter or rescue near you by visiting http://www.petfinder.com/ %26 doing the quick search on the left side of the page.
Please don't breed or buy while shelter pigs die.
Tamara and Justified are right on. There are soooo many pigs that are in shelters and rescues that need homes desperately. Breeders are in it for the money, as are pet stores. As "friendly" and "knowledgable" as they seem, they aren't. Pet store pigs are often sold sick and neglected. They are kept in small, inadequate cages, and fed crap. 99.99% of pet store pigs have mites. Yeah, if you complain enough or threaten to call the ASPCA, they MIGHT take a dying pig to the vet. Otherwise, they don't. Don't believe me? Read this article http://www.peta.org/feat-petsmart.asp...
Before I knew better, I bought my pig from PetSmart. He had ringworm, mites, and an URI. A few more days in there, he'd have been dead. Over $200 later in vet bills and 3 months later, I finally got rid of those sicknesses. He, however, still is not the healthiest pig. After months of complaining to their corporate offices, they finally reimbursed me for my vet bills. It's a sad reality, please don't support it!
Try petfinder.com There are tons of pigs who need homes that you can adopt.
well dont go to far .when you get your piggy you should put it in a cage at home as soon as possible and not handle them until next day.this way they don't get car sick and puke .so don't keep them in the car for over 15 minutes it is not good. go to petfinder.com and see if you can find a good pig.but i have had 12 pigs and 6 hamsters bought from stores and they are all fine.
Petsmart is fine to adopt a small animal into your home.
HOWEVER, you MUST run a thorough check over all the animals in their cages(even ones you are not willing to purchase).
If even one animal does not look healthy, do not purchase any other small animals from the store.
When the assistant comes around to 'pack up' the animal, ask him to allow you to first hold the animal. This way, you can make a thorough check over him/her.
Also, if the assistant 'scoops' up the animal with a toy of some sort, instead of handling it, then odds are...the animal is not getting any physical contact at other times either. (You do not want to purchase)
As stated by another member above, you never know whether the pet will be healthy or not. It is a risk you take when purchasing a pet from Petsmart or Petco.
Try researching and see if there are any smaller pet stores in the area first, before settling for Petsmart.
Call ahead to any store and make sure they have the animal before travelling out 40 minutes and then finding out that they sold out.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask!

Are pet rats nasty?

i want a rat but my husband says no they are dirty
Answers:
Pet rats are extremely intelligent, have super memories and are very loving and attached to their owners. They are also very social animals. Rats absolutely love water and they love taking little baths. They are very clean but they have a natural bodily scent. Rats are great as pets. By the way, which animal isn't dirty? Even a human baby is dirty because it's incapable of cleaning itself up. When you keep your rat and it's cage clean, then there's no problem.
No. They are ik cats. They clean them selves every - like - 2 minuts! There very clean but they are smelly.
I think they are and I have no idea why people would want a pet rat, but it is your personal decision
No! Rats are the most affectionate rodent pet, and certainly the most intelligent. They're the best!
They tend to be a bit smellier than hamsters, which don't smell at all really, but you just clean them out once a week and it's fine. They're not 'dirty' animals, they can even be litter trained.
Do plenty of research into rat care and then you'll have all the facts to support yourself.

I have rats and i love them. In fact i like them better than dogs or cats. I get them when they're young and wash them in the sink and blow dry them ( cover their ears) i have a little bristle brush and i use that too. I place my rats in a big fish tank. A wheel , a tunnel and water bottle the top is a wire one. Because they'll eat a plastic one. I take it with me everywhere in the house. I take them outside in the yard in the summer cause they need sunlight too. Watch for hawks. I remember when my two heard the hawk they came running for mine and my husbands feet lol. The only time they bite is if they're starved and smell food on your fingers. Sometimes they like might pinch your finger with their teeth but their really checking your fingers plus they might lick them for salt. I love them and have had them for about 4 yrs. I only get females because i have young children. The males can get big and other parts of them do too. You wouldn't want to hurt their backside.
My sister used to have a couple, they are okay but they smell really bad! Get a male because both times my sister bought females like a week later they had about 5 babies each.
rats are very clean, nice, and very intelligent
http://exoticpets.about.com/cs/careofrat...
this site has some great info on pet rats
Rats are some of the cleanest pets you can buy. As long as you keep their bedding fresh (don't use wood shavings, it is bad for them - try Carefresh paper bedding) they don't smell at all. They actually clean themselves dozens of times per day and are fastidious about keeping their fur clean. Not only that, but pet rats are adorable and loving and grow attached to their owners. I think your husband is confusing domesticated rats for wild rats, who can carry some diseases and infections. I whole-heartedly recommend a rat as a pet! Just be sure to buy them in same-sex pairs to keep them from getting bored and depressed.
Rats are NOT dirty! They are actually one of the cleanest rodents there is! They are far cleaner than my birds and even though I bath my dog, my rats are far cleaner by a long shot. They have almost no odour and as long as you keep their cage clean, they'll be one of the cleanest pets you could own.
Rats also have a great temperament. They are not "nasty" in any way, shape, or form. A well-bred rat can be your best friend and in some ways are even better than dogs.
Rats are just as intelligent as dogs are, and when it comes to some dogs, I think my rats are MORE intelligent! LOL! They can be trained to come when you call them, and can even do tricks. They learn their names and will react when you say it.
I think your husband simply doesn't like them for his own reasons. Remind him that you are NOT talking about getting a sewer or wild caught rat. You are interested in buying a domesticated well-bred rat from a professional breeder.
When I first met my husband, he saw my pet rats and was disgusted that I would keep rats inside the house when I have a 3 year old daughter. That was then. Now he absolutely adores them and sings their praises (sometimes literally) at work and to his buddies. His sons from a previous marriage each have their own rats at our home. They live with their mom during the week and stay with us on the weekends. My hubby has several rats of his own as well and quite proudly walks around carrying them and showing them off. His mom wasn't too impressed, but she's a wonderful and intelligent lady and while she isn't in favour of them for herself, she's certainly not opposed to her grandchildren having them. She even gives me "treats" to give to the rats! LOL!
I think if your husband actually lived with one, he'd come to love them as much as the rest of us rat-lovers do. Rats truly are one of the BEST pets for anyone.
Good luck.

Are Peruvians hardier than other guinea pigs?

I've raised guinea pigs for years, and out of all of the ones I've raised, the two that lived the longest were both Peruvians, at 8 and 9 years. All my other guinea pigs lived from 4 to 6 years.
Answers:
That is a good question. I think that because long haired guinea pigs (like peruvians) need brushing everday things like lumps, parasites etc get noticed quicker and therefore get treated before it gets bad. Short haired guinea pigs do not need brushing every day and the majority of people only look for lumps, parasites etc once a week during the health check ups that you do from home. I know for sure that this is not the case with my 3 girls but I do know that it is the case with other families that I know that have guinea pigs. 8 and 9 years is very elderly, you must have given them heaps of care and attention.
Addition:
LADIDAH - you just made my day!! Peruvains are a breed of guinea pigs, there are heaps of different breeds and varieties of guinea pigs for eg peruvians, abbysian, rex etc. Here is a list of different guinea pig breeds:
http://www.comfycavies.com/info/breeds/b...
umm what are peruvians? im guessing their horses... but i dont think thats right since your comparing it with a guinea pig.
That's a good theory that Buzzare has. I was thinking along the same lines. Peruvians require more grooming, so they are thoroughly handled and examined more often so you would notice any oddities sooner. Unfortunately, a lot of guinea pig owners won't give the same kind of attention to short haired pigs.
Genetically, no they are not predisposed to be healthier than other gp breeds.
Had the same thing average guinea pigs 4-5 years but Peruvian lived 8-9 years. Don't necessarily think it's because of the care as when I was little and looking after my Peruvian I can't say that he had the most hands on caring as kids can be prone to neglecting responsibilities but he certainly outlived outlasted and outsmarted all the others.
I don't think that Peruvians are any different from other cavies(except for their hair!). Like he said, Peruvians might get more attention and love, but that sounds accusatory of you, so I'm sorry! Peruvians are an exeptional breed, and I'm glad you got to enjoy yours so long.

Are paper toilet rolls good?

Are paper toilet rolls good for my hamster to chew on?
They are NO paper toilet on it.
Answers:
They sure are! I've had hamsters for 15 years and they all loved it. But you know what's even better? Paper towel rolls, cut in half. They're a little thicker and provide more chewing resistance for the little guys. If you have a big enough enclosure and your 'sters are trim enough to go through them and not get stuck, putting a whole paper towel roll in their enclosure is good fun for them too. Just make sure your enclosure is big enough and won't get stuck against the edges and trap them inside. Like with anything you put in their enclosure, make sure it's safe to have it in there. Have fun!!
Yeah
my rats did it my friends hamsters did too. all where fine :)
It should be fine, just make sure there is not any glue on it. They sell basically the same thing in petstores, although they'd be better off with something like Hamsteroids for chewing.
yes they love it and will chew it up and then snuggle down for a nap in it :)
i give them to my guinea pig all the time, and he loves it. he likes to thrash it around like a dog with a stuffed animal or a snake, but more up and dowm, not so violent. they can eat a bit, but remember to keep enough food in there , as they will eat it of they get hungary insted of jus chewing it. tell ur hammie o have fun! good luck and God bless.
they're fine, hamsters love them
yes...i have 3 hamsters,2 mice, %26 1 guinapig... and they all cew on toilet paper rolls..,lol :)
Yes, they love toilet paper rolls. Even if there is a little paper left on it, they'll like it. My hams have always used the extra paper for their nests. :)
yes they love them!
Ya, its natural it doesn't hurt them at all they have fun going through them and chewing on them helps their teeth from getting to big.
yes. it is very good. It can a hiding place for them, and it helps them to trim their teeth to ^^ good luck :)
Cheers,
Sabby

Are my ratties fighting?

ok, i want to know if my rats are fighting.. ive not had to introduce new rats and i cant tell if they are..so if your actually a rat owner who knows, please help..
heres a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gto-y_pte...
Answers:
No, thats natural. They are grooming each other which is a sign of affection. If your hear squeaking when this happens, thats okay. Sometimes if a rat likes you, it will groom you as well.
if either of your rats starts avoiding the other one or you notice it is injured, then yeah they're fighting. we had no problem with 5 male rats in one cage together. then again, they were brothers...
they are not fighting at all, their grooming and that's totally different. what you're seeing is GOOD behavior in a rat!
you'd know if they were actually in a fight, they would be squeaking and biting and someone (err rat) would be injured. what their doing is what you wanna see when you do an introduction.

We have 3 female rats.
Yours are not fighting they are grooming. When fighting they squeak and usually one will roll over on it's back while the other one "pins" it. That shows dominance, if they don't stop shortly after one rolls over you could have a problem.
they are not fighting. when a new rat is introduced to others in the pack they will sniff them and start to clean them. They are basically greeting him/her to thier home.
definetly grooming
If they making a sqeaky noise then yes they are fighting.
If not, they are just preening
When my rats fight (I have 21) I just tap their noses with my finger or the cage to stop them. It works

Are my male guinea pigs getting along or fighting?

i have a male guinea pig and my dad bought one for himself(male) and we cant tell if they are getting along because mine keeps running up to it and shakes and makes a funny shaky noise and trys to hump it but they are both males. are they just getting along or are they bout to fight....PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZz HELP!
Answers:
They are sorting out dominance. The shaking and rumbling is called rumblestrutting. If that's all they do before settling down, then things are going well. Read this site. It has a list of warning signs to watch for if things get out of hand. http://www.cavyspirit.com/sociallife.htm...
Males can, and usually will, live peacefully together. Don't listen to those people who tell you otherwise (there will be some.) It's all about introduction techniques, which are all layed out on that page I linked you to.
Looks like it could be one male trying to impose his dominance on the other..
Im used to have two male hamsters.. And its inivetble they were to fight... They would sometimes fight, sometimes play fighting.. Other times when they were in a mood
So your guinea pigs will fight, Just interven i you think they getting really rough... Oh and both my males had a relationship. I mean they acted like lovers, They slept toghter, did everything toghether
Usually males tend to fight. Exspecially if a female is within sight/smell. They should probably settle down, and get along fine within a couple days. Guinea pigs naturally live in large groups and get along. So, if they are fighting, it shouldnt last long. Yet, if either becomes harmed you should probably seperate them.
hi hun sounds like its scared and doesnt know what to do or could be saying why u here this is my home sort of thing but i think u should keep a close eye on them incase
Let me caution you that the pig may not be properly sexed. Pet stores are notorious for incorrect sexing %26 the pig your dad bought may be a girl. Please check again to be sure.
Secondly, if the new pig is truly male, then they are just figuring out who is going to be the "dominant" pig. This scenario is filled with rumbling, swaying bums, mounting, bum sniffing, and nose butting. This is normal.
If they start chattering their teeth at each other or biting/fighting, it is time to separate them. Please see introduction techniques at http://www.cavyspirit.com/sociallife.htm... You'll have to scroll down a bit to get to it. Also read the section on quarantine %26 what to look for with regard to illness or parasites.
Best of luck!
my two male guinea pigs also do that. it dosen't mean they are going to fight, cause mine never have. i think it is just telling them or maybe asking them if they want to 'do it'
The humping and what i think is called 'rumblestrutting' (where they shake and make that purring noise) is a way of showing dominance and telling the other one to back off, they're trying to decide who is dominant. if the new guinea pig was younger then there shouldn't be any problem, if not, they don't seem to be fighting atm, but keep an eye on them and look very closely for injuries, such as bitten ears. if there are any injuries separate them immediatley, and keep them in separate cages, else one could get seriously injured or even killed.
Don't worry that isn't fighting.
He is just showing the other piggy that he is the boss.
This behaviour is known as 'Rumblestrutting'.
:)
dat use 2 happen 2 me, just make sure theres a lot of food.
i had two male guinea pigs i brought them a year apart, but they started fighting, the fighting slowly got worse and in the end they had such a bad fight in the hall way that i had to put them in separate cages. personally i think the best time to have guinea pigs together is when they are brother or sisters. or they have a very large space to live so they can stay out of each others way.
They are not fighting. This is dominance. If they start teeth chattering, they will fight, though. There is a myth that males always fight, and it is untrue. They should do dominance outside of the cage where the territory is neutral. They aren't homo, either.
Some people say to only separate them if blood is shed. I know http://www.cavyspirit.com can help you with intros.

Are my guniea pigs a healthy weight?

I have two guinea pigs, Matilda and Penelope. I weighed and measured them last night. Here is their information:
Penelope: Age: 9 months, Length: 9 inches, Weight: 1.8 lbs
Matilda: Age 6 months, Length: 9 inches, Weight: 1.4 lbs
Both pigs are extremely social, alert, active and curious. Their fur is lush and shiny with clear eyes. They sneeze occasionally, but no discharge from their, mouths, noses, eyes, ears or anus. Penelope is very bulky and calm, Matilda is more squirrelly and although is the same length looks a ton smaller than Penelope. Both moves and sits comfortably and are both female.
Are their weights healthy for their behavior, body length, gender and age?
Answers:
yes
Yes. They are a healthy weight. Up to two pounds in my experience. THey also sound very healthy! Good job and they sound like they're well taken care of!
it sounds like a normal weight becuse I have twe hamsters and they weigh less then that so yah it sounds about write
Seems to be.if you are not sure, call a vet to ask.
also here is a link on guinea pig's weights:
http://www.guinealynx.com/weigh.html...
hope that helps
yes they are fine
Ok, no these pigs are under weight, I am sorry to say. At three months old we would expect a properly taken care of piggie to be in the 22 ounces range which is about 1 lb 5 ounces. Your piggies should weight at least 32 ounces or 2 lbs minimum!! Anything less is a sign the pig is doesn't have adequate care or there is something wrong that is not allowing the pigs to gain sufficient weight. A good weight for and adult sow ranges between 32-40 ounces, and for a boar 38-45 ounces. And remember there are 16 ounces in a lb if you want to convert this. My suggestion is to take the piggies to the vet for a check up to make sure everything is fine. And you also need to take a look at the food you are feeding them. A quality food has at least (at least) these two components - 18% protein and no more than 2.5% fat. It should be made of a quality alfalfa pellet with out the treat stuff in there. Guinea pigs will pick through their garden variety pet store food and eat only the unhealthy items first leaving behind the nutritional pellets. If you are wanting to give them treats, you should be doing it in the form of fresh vegetables or dandilions. And if you know your food doesn't meet the critieria stated above you need to buy one that does and slowly switch over the course of a week. You do this buy mixing some of the new food with the old food each day. And each day when you mix it you put less of the old stuff in there on, day seven throw away the old food, it is junk!!
Memphis Gal gave you a great link, but only one to the diet requirements, not the link to the correct weight. http://www.guinealynx.info/weigh.html... If you read down right below what the vets listed you will get the right weight for the piggies,,,,, Also here is the guide lines from the American Rabbit Breeders Association which governs the rules and by laws for Rabbit and Cavy(guinea pigs) Standard of PERFECTION!!
JUNIOR
Up to 4 months of age, minimum weight 12 ozs. and maximum weight 22 ozs
INTERMEDIATE
5 and 6 months of age, minimum weight 22 ozs. and maximum weight 32 ozs
SENIOR
Over 6 months of age and weight over 32 ozs
These vet reference books are from older sources, what is not being taken into consideration here is that many show breeders trying to reach the standard of perfection breed these piggies to have a large brick shaped robust body and the weight requirements have changed over the last 10 years.
I would say that they are a tiny bit underweight. An average adult (about 1 year old) female pig will be between 700- 900 grams (1.5 lbs- 1.9 lbs). Generally, you will see pigs over those normal weights, not under.
Since your pigs are not quite adults, they can be on the lower end of the range. The most important thing is that they have a healthy diet and are still putting on weight.
Here is a link to proper diet guindelines. http://www.guinealynx.info/diet.html...
It's wonderful that you are weighing your pig. Keep it up!
your guinea pigs sound the right weight! mine are almost 2 years old, and weigh more, but they should because they are older. Like your piggy Penelope, one of mine named yogi is also very bulky and calm. Like Matilda, my other one named scampers is smaller looking. mine are both males. Yours sound very healthy to me!

Are my Guinea Pigs Gay?

Ok, I apologise for the title. I recently bought 2 male Guinea Pigs and both seem to like eachother. What was really weird was that whenever I open their little house ( lol they have a house in their MASSIVE cage) and one of my boars were on top of the other ( creepy huh!). I only recently read that 2 males would fight, but they seem to get along really well. I don't really know their history but I do know they probally met eachother when they were babies. Oh yes, both boars are 3 months old. Please help!
Answers:
Although it would *seem* that way, they're not gay. The majority of the time they are doing this as a way to show dominance. Mounting is done by a lot of animals. However, during adolescence they will sometimes take out their raging hormones on the only available cagemate, girl or boy.
I have two boars that have been doing this for a very long time. It started in adolescence %26 I just shrugged it off to them trying to work out who would be the dominant pig. However, they are well over a year old now %26 they *still* do this. Ok, here's your "ewwwww" factor: sometimes one of them gets, uh, *cough*...*ahem*."glued" by the other. They are the very best of buddies though. They play constantly %26 have no fighting issues. I have noticed lately though, the behavior has decreased to only *occasionally* and the "chasee" will try to duck or hide from the "chaser". Just ignore it unless it turns into fighting. It doesn't mean they're gay! LOL!
Have fun with your piggies!
Oh, as a side note, you may want to make SURE they are both boys. http://www.guinealynx.info/sexing.html...
Two questions: Are you sure they are both males? What do you mean by "on top of each other"? If you mean they are attempting to... how can I put this nicely.. mate with one another, it could be that one is attempting to show dominance over the other. It's very common in the animal kingdom to do that.
My spayed female dog does that to my male (unfixed) dog.. She's definitely not thinking she can mate with him that way, she's trying to show she's "top dog".
Animals aren't gay. I'm sorry.
YEP! I agree with ya' title - They're Gay Guineas!!
If you are certain they're both males, it is probably just a dominance thing, assuming what you're describing is mounting behavior and not just one guinea pigs sleeping on top of the other. It's vey common among animals, it's no limited to males, and it's perfectly natural. As long as you don't see any signs of agression, they're probably working out who's in charge peacefully.
I'd check to make sure they we're both actually males, becuase if they aren't both males you'll end up with baby pigs. Animals normally aren't gay, so I don't think so.
animals dont know the word gay.. the just try to have sex..
The other one might be a female!
I use to work at a pet store and one time we got a delivery of Guiana pigs . I checked them in and when I looked at their cage the older Guiana was mounting the new little ones!! Your guineas are just showing dominance don't worry be happy they are as long as there is no biteing or anything of that sort it should be fine
You need to get a female, there in that one stage to mate or there showing dominance over each other. And later they will start fighting, trust me.
I have 2 male guinea pigs too, and they do the same thing. I think that is how they show dominance, who is the more tougher pig. when mine were 3 months old they seemed to do that more, now they are almost a year old, and do that seldom. so i don't think it is very bad, unless they really start to hurt each other.
They are just working out their adolescence issues, give them time. Chances are very good that they will be best buddies when they reach adulthood. DO NOT get a female to put in with them, then they will really fight.

Are my gerbils trying to kill each other?

this is what it looks like im not sure if they are really playing or not.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2f_raj7q...
Answers:
The fight in that video is somewhere between playing and fighting. You'll know when they really fight because they just grab hold of each other and roll around and jab with their claws and teeth in little rapid twitches
A play-fight usually seems much slower and calmer than a real fight and never usually lasts longer than four seconds. A real fight will often go on til one of them is dead, and of course you see a lot of blood. Not pretty.
If they are 2 males, they may be fighting for dominance in the substrate they are in,( looks like they were taking a dust bath). Or if 2 females, the same thing. If a male and a female, he may be wanting to start a family and she doesn't!! Just watch them and be sure they don't hurt each other.
as long as there is no noise being made and you never see blood it is just them messing around nothing to be afraid of!!
They're just frisky.. lucky little gerbils

Are my gerbils trying to kill each other?

they are brothers. and when i take them out to play one gets on its back and the other one hovers over the other and it looks like the one on top is trying to suffocate the bottom one like their kissing. they have been with each other since birth and they are 6 weeks old. are they fighting or playing??
Answers:
Looks as normal gerbil playing and grooming. My gerbils do this too.
Does it look like this? http://youtube.com/watch?v=tzv1kcmifme...
Prolly playing.
Sounds like playing or grooming.
If one bites the other hard enough to make him bleed, they are fighting.
At this point, they are just trying to sort out who is the boss.
I wouldn't worry.
this means they are fighting. male gerbils are territorial. having 2 males in the same cage is not a good idea.one could kill the other.try separating them in different cages. they will be much happier that way.
Do not worry, they are just grooming each other. They will do this very often. It is perfectly natural. I have two gerbils, and they do that all the time. They have never bleed. They should be fine.
Please email me and tell me if my answer helped you! THANKS!
Brothers? You need to seperate them.
I didn`t think any hamsters or gerbils were supposed to be put together, even if they are family, because just like cats, they don`t care who is bro/sis and whose not.
They're being aggressive because the one gerbil has your scent and is now different. You'll have to watch them carefully as this can be a problem with males, especially if their cage is too small and they become territorial. Three males should be kept in at least a 20 gallon long aquarium. Is one gerbil instigating the problem? If so, you'll probably have to separate him. Several years ago I kept 3 brothers together and when they were about a year old one started becoming aggressive and he eventually killed one of his brothers. Then I separated the remaining two.

Are My Gerbils Happy?

Here's the story: I have two Gerbils. I bought the first one not knowing much about them (the guy at the pet store told me they were pretty much like hamsters, WRONG!). After doing research and discovering they were social animals I bought another one and tried to do the split cage method to introduce them. It didn't work and they tried to kill each other, so now they live in separate cages. They both have wheels, chew toys, treats, houses, and coconuts to keep them occupied but I just feel like they are bored all the time! I get them out and interact with them several times a day and I set my bathtub up with toys and stuff to play with, but they want out after a few minutes. I just don't know what to do to keep them happy/occupied! Or is it just Gerbil nature? Any tips on how to keep them entertained? Sorry it's so long and I appreciate any help!
Answers:
Gerbils are indeed social creatures but only with their FAMILY or others that they've known since they were babies. They will get along with other gerbils that they've grown up with, they NEED the company of other gerbils, but if you try to introduce 2 adult gerbils, they will fight to the death. Seriously. So next time, be SURE to buy two boys or two girls from the same litter or at least very young.
From what you tell us, it seems you are doing the very best you can, considering how that idiot at the pet store mislead you. Hopefully even though they can't live together, they can still communicate some and not be so lonely.
I think you can spend as much time with them as you want, the more the better. Gerbils are NOT nocturnal, they are what's called Crepuscular -- meaning more active at dawn and dusk.
I agree with all the others who recommend giving them cardboard. When I had gerbils everyone I knew saved their paper towel rolls for me! Gerbils LOVE them!!
Gerbils also LOVE TO DIG. In nature they live underground. So if you want to fill an aquarium with dirt and let them take turns, they might really enjoy this. They will get dirty though! I bet if you did some searching you could find directions on how to make a great digging place for them!
You are doing great with them. Pat yourself on the back!
of course they're happy i mean if i was one of your gerbils and you typed a book basically and provided all those wonderfull things i would be happy
that's what people think with pets. you want more of what you have for them. gerbils dont really need all that much attention.once maybe twice a day for 20 minutes should be fine.if they have toys and stuff and are playing than they should be fine, its just your conscience messing with you. they're fine just let them be and let nature take its course
Give them brown toilet paper rolls (not bleached ones) to chew after the toilet paper is all used up. My late gerbil (Horhay the Herbil) LOVED to shred them. Just make sure there's no glue on it. You could also them unbleached napkins, paper towels, or paper towel rolls for them to chew up. It could keep them busy for hours!
Also, my gerbil loved this crinkly bedding- he would burrow in it with gerbil glee: http://www.fibercorellc.com/eco-bedding.
If you try this bedding, you might want to put a layer of more absorbent bedding/litter like Carefresh underneath.
As for snacks, gerbils go crazy for sunflower seeds but they aren't that healthy so only as an infrequent snack.
Small domestic rodents, like Gerbils,Hamsters,Mice, and Guinea Pigs are usually pretty happy with some paper-towel rolls, some tubes, and a wheel. Try giving them apples, carrots, and lettuce. And tomatoes, they love when you give them snacks an surprise them by hand-feeding them. It's good you let them out in your bathtub to run around, that will keep them happy. Lots of holding, try letting them climb up and down your staircase, my friend's Gerbils LOVE IT! My Hams do too, they get quite fast. So keep a close eye on them.
Gerbils, in their nature sleep much of the day because they are nocturnal. When you are up they probably do not want to play much because they are tired. You are right it is gerbil nature. They are probably fine, although there really is no way to tell, a gerbil that takes a good run on its wheel should be pretty happy!
A lot of people who have 'loner' gerbils worry about their happiness. It sounds like you are a great gerbil owner, and I would love to be a gerbil in your house! But, i do have one more suggestion...lots and lots of cardboard. Paper towel rolls, toilet paper rolls, cereal boxes, etc. They LOVE it. I also give mine all the junk mail. It gives them something to do and helps keep the teeth nice and trim.
by the way, they are not actually considered truly 'nocturnal' because they are active early in the morning and at dusk, so they are awake more during the day than something like a hamster.
If you leave their cages close to one another long enough for them to become used to the smell of one another, they should eventually grow to stand each other. The small patch on their stomachs is their scent gland. That is how they identify each other, by smell. They just have to get used to that before they are willing to be "friends".
So just keep their cages close at all times and keep trying to let let them play together until they finally stop fighting.
I think they should be really happy! You are taking awesome care of them. How did you do the split cage? How old are they, and what gender? It's easier to introduce males and/or younger gerbils. To keep them entertained, you could give them carboard tubes; they will go through them if they can fit, and then chew them up. I think you are already doin a great job, but since they are social animals, if you can't get them to accept another gerb then there's not much else you can do.
Keep up the good work! :)
this is what i thought when i first got my 2 gerbils. i kept buying them more things to make them happier, until my mom said, enough!! but i learned, they are very capable at entertaining themselves! sounds like you provide them with tons of great things, i just can't sit in my bathtub with mine, bcuz there's not enough hours in the day! they also LOVE toilet paper tubes! it makes great bedding once they chew it up. i give my gerbils 2 everyday, and it keeps them busy for a long time. anything cardboard (cereal boxes, cardboard tubes, etc...) my family always gives to me, once its of no use anymore, lol.
here is also a great site that helped me when i got mine:
http://www.twinsqueaks.com/index.html...
good luck, and i hope i helped!
what i know about my gerbil ,she loves to chew on toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls ,she makes her bed out of them
it is very true they are very social animals if you are that worried than try getting another and let them all run around in the same room and maybe if the new one likes both of them they will learn to like each other but they sound pretty happy to me try making them a treat this may sound stupid but it helps a lot ok here it is ok first take some gerbil food and put it in a bowl or something then put some peanut butter and mix it and then put some like cheerios or some kinda cereal and mix that all together and cook it in the oven [til it gets hot] then after that take it out and cool it off a little and feed it to your gerbils they LOVE it so give that a try :)
If they are young they should be able to be paired up with a gerbil friend.
See if you can get a breeder at www.AGSgerbils.org to do the introduction for you; it can be tricky with some gerbils. They might like living near if not with the other gerbil, if you have to keep them alone.
Make sure they have 3 inches of litter to tunnel in and cardboard every day to gnaw (a paper towel roll or a small box).
The person who said gerbils are noctural is wrong about that; they are crescepular (nappers - who sleep most soundly at noon and midnight when it is very hot an very cold in their semi desert home country). If your gerbils are sleeping all day they could feel lonely or vulnerable. The free runs in the bathtub are a great idea though -- funning at top speed is often the lone gerbils antidepressant.
Gerbils love to jew, get them lots of chew toys!

Are my ferrets lil cuties??

http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z293/...

http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z293/...
tell me what u think and what r some good toys for them?like ones to buy and homemade ones cause they love to climb through stuff and be big troble makers lol so please help
Answers:
YES! They are soooooooooo adorable.
For toys for your ferrets, I have many suggestions.
Try using duct pipes (make sure they're clean) for your ferrets to crawl through. If you do not have any avalaible, you can buy them. Stores that sell building supplies would most likely have these in stock. Make sure that the duct pipes aren't too tight, they should have at least the diamater of its height (while sitting normally, not standing on its hind legs).
Hard plastic toys, such as some toys for cats and dogs, can be used to entertain your ferrets. Hard plastic balls with bells or other noismakers are often toys that ferrets like the best. They also enjoy playing with baby rattles.
Cut holes in cardboard boxes so your ferrets can climb in and out of them to hide.
You can also buy your ferrets a ferret hammock, which they like to hide in and sleep in. These are availiable at most pet stores.
Good Luck!
real cute!
this is a page of guinea pig toys but im sure most of them will work for your ferrets
http://guineapigcages.com/toys.htm...
definantly, they are gorgeous
your farrets are SOO adorable..if you want some toys from a pro or something get advice from a pet store and that would be the best solution i no that they like little rubber balls and squeshy balls..but i really suggest talking to someone who works at a pet store cause they would no what they should and shouldnt have to play with.
Your babies are soooo beautiful!!!I miss mine i had to give them up :(!!But anyways mine liked the dryer tubes i bought at home depot fuzzy balls,Things with bells on them.Or socks
yes, they are adorable. its funny how you can hold five of them up at once!
For toys, ferrets enjoy things that are attatched to their cages and plushie chew toys. They also like things that hang, both for sleeping in and playing with. This includes hammocks and bungee toys. And since they love climbing through things I would recommend a hammock tunnel. Its the best of both!
hope this helps!
Very cute, but you have 5 ferrets, two hamsters, want a guinea pig, and you probably have more than that! I really hope that you can properly care for all of your animals, and that they are all very healthy.
They are so cute!! How many pets do you have now?? LOL!! I would recommend buying them just normal thing from a pet store that is in the ferret department~~~
They are absolutely gorgeous:) Two of them look like mine-Love them dearly! Try the Ferret store online, Petco, or Petsmart for ferret toys

Are my 2 Gerbils gonna b ok?!? read details..!?

Well, im gonna be gone for a whole entire week at my grandmas, which is 2 hours away from my hometown, and my gerbils have a glass aquarium and a small food dish and these HUGE food bars (which are just a bunch of food stuck together in the shape of a candy bar) and little letter chew blocks and i was wondering if they have enough food..because i usually have to refill thier food bowl over again but now they have big food bars...is that enough?
Answers:
I am sure they would survive a week on one food bowl and a bottle of water. They really don't eat or drink much at all. I think the longest they could survive like that is probably 2.5 weeks, but I would never leave mine for more than one week. They would begin to suffer and you never know what might happen, if they have a fight or something. A good tip is give them lots of fruit and veg as it contains a high percentage of water.
Can't you have a friend or family member come and care for them? I never leave town without having someone I trust come and care for my pets while I'm gone. Leaving big bunches of food behind, for an entire week, isn't going to be useful. I would imagine after a week it would have a stale taste to it...
Yes, I agree with the first answer. Having a friend, or family member take care of your gerbils. This way, your friend, or family member can play with your gerbils, make sure that they enough food and water. No animal can go without at least being checked on for a whole week. Please, your gerbils will be much safer if you have someone care for them. Thanks for taking care of pets, and for taking this answer! Thanks, and good luck!
I agree with the first two posters, you need to find someone to look after them while you're gone.
You also need to make sure they have plenty of fresh water available, maybe put another water bottle in the cage.
As for toys, they need a hidey place, a cardboard box for them to hide in.
They will be fine if you leave them by themselves, but you really should have someone come over and take care of them!
They will b fine. but dont u have a neighbor or family member to take care of them.
What about the water? It would be better if you had a family member to take care of it. Or friend.

Are multi storey cages good for guinea pigs?

i am getting 2 piggys and i saw a very big cage that was 2 storeys.here r some cage i might get for my piggys when i get them.tell me if there good please.
1.http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_d...
2.http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_d...
3.http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_d...

tyvm and it has to be either a cage from petco or petsmart sorry. my said so =( but they have huge cages that arent online
Answers:
Those cages look very small, please see www.guineapigcages.com for the minimum size requirements.
Two storey cages can be suitable but the maximum space must be acheived on the bottom level (as this is the space they should have for running round laps of the cage), and space on upper levels should be in addition to this. Guinea pigs don't climb so ramps must not be very steep and should have sides to prevent the guinea pig falling from an upper level.
[edit] Those cages you've added are far too small- if your mother isn't prepared to let you get a suitable cage then you really shouldn't be getting guinea pigs. You don't have to order a cage off the internet, the c%26c cages on guineapigcages.com are ones you build yourself- it's very easily to do, the materials are cheap and easy to get hold of, the cage can be made to fit your needs and will also be big enough for your new pets, unlike the pet shop cages you seem to be so keen on buying.
I like the first one lost of room you could go to a pet store and look at them
No, please don't. Piggies are not climbers and they can slip and fall and hurt their backs. Piggies like to stay on the ground, so just get the biggest one story cage you can and put lots of fun stuff in it for them and they'll be happy. Make sure you get 2 girls because 2 boys will fight and one of each will make a whole lot of babies!
None of those cages is adequate in the least. Your best bet is to build a C%26C cage of your own. Please do not waste your money on a pet store cage.
Also, two males CAN be bonded and live successfully together, it is completely untrue that you cannot keep two males together.
You should check out guinealynx.info before you get your piggies. There is so much more info on their proper care to be found there than anywhere else, and the info you get from the pet store will not be correct.
No, 2 story houses are not a good idea for guinea pigs. They don't jump or land well, and a fall could cause injury. While it is true that some males guinea pigs can live together without fighting, I have found in the 32 years I've owned and bred them that most of them will fight, so I do not recommend 2 males. Two females usually get along very well, especially if raised together.
If those are the only cages you can get, then you should not get any guinea pigs. All of those cages are way to small. Two pigs need at least 7.5 sq feet of space, that is 30" x 36".
You will waste your money on those tiny cages. http://www.guineapigcages.com/ has instructions to build the best cage. It will only cost about $40 dollars for supplies. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY IT FROM THEM! You can get the supplies from a sign making store(in your town) and at Target or a similar store. You can design the cage to look like you want it to, with a loft if you choose to. They are easy to build and your piggies will be much happier. Go to the site and look at the pictures from some ideas. Think of all the great things you can buy will the extra money you save!
I really like the 2nd one from petsmart. a cage with 2 stories works great. it gives them lots of room. if that doesn't seem like enough room when they get bigger, i reccommend building your own cage. for the bottom use coroplast sign, and buy wire shelving to put around it. this way you can have an even bigger cage!! hope this helped:) here is a site
http://imageevent.com/cavyspirit/cavycag...
these are what my cage kind of looks like, lots of room!
Please do not use plastic and wire cages for guinea pigs or two storey cages. Guinea pigs are ground dwelling animals and are liable to fall from ramps and walk ways.
They like to gnaw on things and plastic and wire are no good for this.
Buy or make a wooden hutch for these lovely animals with a run for outdoor exercise on good days when the weather is dry.
They love to eat grass so a pen on the lawn is wonderful for them. A concrete of paved area is an advantage as it wears their claws down.
Care sheets are free on my web site
I have kept guinea pigs for 50 years and own a pet store

Are mites contagious to humans?

Will mites go on you? Is it a life threatning thing to your hammy?
Answers:
Your hamster has mites? They won't go onto humans, but it isn't suggested to hold that hamster while they have mites. Mites, while being very painful for the hamster, are caused by stress. He might be more susceptible to stress if he's out of his comfortable cage.
Please take him to the vet, because mites can eventually cause death if they aren't treated soon enough, and are painful for the hamster
Mites can be cured, they are like fleas. I don't think they get on you.
It's said that mites are not species specific, but that they're host specific. Meaning, they could cross species...but prefer their host and aren't likely to pack up and leave. You should be fine.
You should get the hamster treated, asap. I know some home treatments for mice and rats, but I'm unsure if they're safe for hamsters. It's always best to go to the vet anyhow...to be certain of what you're dealing with and it's the safest route in most cases.
Good luck!
Edit: I found this home treatment for hamsters. However, *please*, be certain mites are the problem and talk to a vet (one who sees rodents) or very experienced hamster owners/breeders before using. It's always better safe, than sorry.

Are mice non allergenic? or are any rodents non allergenic?? thnx?

i want to get a rodent that is non allergenic.. what are some choices.. i no chinchillas are but they are too much.
and hairless isnt an option either thnx
Answers:
No animal is hypoallergenic, although some are better/worse for allergy sufferers than others. With rodents, it's probably the same or similar to how it is with other animals...you can react to any/all of the following: hair, dander, saliva or urine.
Do you know for certain you have allergies to any of them? If not, maybe visit a friend/relative with rodents or a pet shop and spend some time with them. Keep in mind, just because you're allergic to one animal, doesn't mean you're allergic to all. Allergies are basically an immune response to a specific substance(s). If you are allergic to any rodents, a hairless would lessen (but not eliminate) the chance of a reaction.
Edit: I found this link, thought it might be helpful.
The Myth of the Hypoallergenic Pet
http://www.sneeze.com/default.sph/gaz.cl...
any small pet kept in a cage should be fine for someone with allergies. make sure they wash their hands thoroughly after handling the animal.
ummmm try a dwarf hamster they r very small and i am allergic to a lot of things dogs cats trees mold etc.
i got a dwarf hamster and i dotn sneeze at all they r very easy to care for and they r really cute 2. rats r kinda creepy...
DWARF HAMSTERS FOREVER!
Any animal with hair has the potential to be allergenic.
well, rats are great for people with allergies!! plus, since they have fragile respitory systems themselves, the bedding they need shouldn't bother you either!
they're very interactive pets that are like the dog in pocket pet form pretty much! when you read up on their care so you know how to care for them, i'm sure you'll learn to love them just like so many other people have

Are mice cool to have as pets?

I know many people are going to say rats are better, and I definatley agree, but a rat just isnt in the cards right now.
Answers:
Yes they are great, I have 11 long haired mice, plus a litter of I dont know how many. I LOVE THEM. They all have different personalities. Easy to take care of and dont require alot of space. Just one difference between mice and rats. Rats can all live together. Only female mice can live together male mice do not get along and have to live alone. So if you want more than one get females. hope this helps
YES they are i have 5 of them trust me!

(or get a rabbit)
This is something I posted about mice about a month ago. I now have 8 mice, and I still think they are so cute and funny, and am contemplating getting even more mice. I have all females, and I have noticed that the more I have he more often there are some that are active and it really is very entertaining to watch them. They are a lot smarter than I thought they would be, and my cat enjoys watching them too.

"I went to the pet store about a week ago and noticed how cute and playful all the mice were. I went home and thought about getting some for a few days and when I returned to the pet store I bought 4 of them.
I've never had mice, and I am learning about them. So far they have made excellent pets. They have a wire wheel and they take turns riding it upside down, they bathe like cats, and make forts out of the cage liner. They are also very sweet to each other. They have paired of in sets of "best friends." One of the four, Peanut Butter, is kinda skiddish, and Meredith will bring her treats into their igloo.
The other two, X. Spearmint and Trixie are always doing something. One day I picked up Spearmint and she wanted down and Trixie stopped building her house and came running to where my hand was making a sound more like a sad puppy than a mouse.
I've really enjoyed them and they are so funny. I am still trying to tame and litter box train them, but like I said I haven't had them for very long."
I gave up on litter box training them, as I just don't have the time or dedication to do it. They are very easy to care for, I have two water bottles and two food dishes, and I just change their cage every couple of days.
I think mice are to fast and small, they are very hard to keep up with...but thats just me.
I have a rat and I love her. My sis had mice and they are cute but not easy to bond with.
They are awesome pets. I have two female mice and I love them to bits! They are cute, friendly and very entertaining, they are also very easy to take care of and are inexpensive. Just make sure you get female mice and not male as male mice smell very bad and are more aggressive then females who hardly smell at all and are very friendly, also, be sure to get your mice in pairs or groups, they are social animals and will get depressed and may even die if left on their own.

Are may guinea pigs okay?

my gueanie pigs poop a lot is that ok
Answers:
Pelleted guinea pig diets are nutritionally balanced, and should therefore make up the majority of your pet鈥檚 diet. Guinea pigs are prone to Vitamin C deficiency, and so make sure that your pelleted food is supplemented with Vitamin C. A small handful of timothy or alfalfa hay is a daily source of fiber for your guinea pig. For variety, small amounts of carrot, spinach, broccoli, corn on the cob, or apple can be given. Do not overdo the fresh foods, as this can result in diarrhea. Provide fresh water at all times. Vitamin C can also be added to the water supply. Ensure that your guinea pig is given fresh water everyday. This can help you and you guinea pig's problem.
Hope I helped!
Don't worry! Guinea pigs poop ALL the time! If your guinea pig is not pooping a lot, then you have a problem!
yah they always poop alot!my guinea pigs poop all the time!
i have two guinea pigs auttumn and brownie thaey both pooped alot when they were maturing!!
Yep! This means that all is well with your piggies.
If they stop pooping, they have a problem. They are little eating %26 pooping machines! :)
Yes that is okay! Guinea pigs poop all the time. So don't be worried if they are sick because it's just natural for them. My guinea pig pooped all the time too. It's just the way they are.
Hope this helps!

Are Jinga Blocks safe for my hamster to chew?

He chews his cage and I put a few Jinga Blocks in there, Thats safer then him chewing on his cage? I dont want to harm him or him harm himself by chewing on the cage. Jinga the game blocks
Answers:
u can try leaving some of the toilet paper roll in the cage or some dried baked bread for gnawing or salt bar for hamster/ salt wheel. or some gnawing block.

try leaving one item at a time so tat your hamster got time to play with the item.
They are ok for him to chew on. But even in pet stores there are kinda like jinga blocks but they are flavored for the hamsters. My hamster would do the same thing I gave him one of those things from the pet shop, he liked it.
don't jinga blocks have like a coating over them and writing on them? not sure...try a dog biscuit instead.
That seems fine to me. But, if your hamster is going to chew on wood, I would take the time to buy wood blocks at the pet store. Jinga blocks are most likely varnished with some kind of protective coating, and that could harm your hamster. Wood is good for a hamster to chew on, but I think something a little more animal safe would be more suitable.
I don't know about the jenga blocks but try cardboard tubes, or you can buy blocks of wood at the pet store that way you will know that they are safe.
if that does not stop chewing an the cage it is not the biggest deal.
also if you notice bald spots on the nose that is common from pets that chew on bars because it rubs their nose just ignore the bald spots

Are honey hamsters and teddy bear hamsters the same thing?

What are teddy bear hamsters also known as? I'm looking into getting one.
Answers:
They are all SYRIAN hamsters. Syrians have so many nicknames because they come in such a huge ammount of different colours and markings. Other nicknames are goldern/teddybear/blackbear ect ect..
They are really good natured hamsters, and make wonderful pets. they are less nippy than the smaller breeds of hamsters and love to play and interact with humans. I have had my syrian 14 months and he has never bitten.
they are the exact same thing with a different name.
Yes. I agree with the above answers. Petstores just want to use fancy names (colors) for the same type of hamster.

Are holland loap dwarf bunnies good pets?

Answers:
any rabbit makrs a good pet large or small. i breed mini lops, and they do make good pets. i also have breed dwarf lops and i do have one now. i have found they like lots of cuddles and like being brushed. but they can be bad tempered it you pick them up wrong or hurt them.
but saying that if you handle them right and give them lots of attention (which they love) you will be fine.
yes rabbits are good pets. please adopt one! they have dwarf bunnies needing homes at your local animal shelter..
try, www.petfinder.com
smaller rabbits are known to have tempermental problems but i think that holland lop dwarves are good pets.
I rescued exotics for several years. This included rabits, guinea pigs, Hedgehogs, lizards, snakes...
My take is, pets are only as good as their owner. Do some research first and talk to a Vet who specializes in the animal you are wanting to get. Make sure you have the financial resources to provide the proper diet, health maintenance, and habitat for the animal, and the time to nurture the type of behaviour you want. And any animal you buy, take it to a vet within 48 hours to ensure that the animal is healthy with no defects and that it has been treated well.
A Holland Lop was the first animal I purposly bought as a baby and took in for my own personal pet. I rescued many animals but I wanted a "Baby" that I nurtured and knew would live for several years. Holland Lops are very intellegent, think two year old (both good AND Bad). Mine was box-trained, and would climb up in bed with me. Got jealous when I got a new boyfriend, wound up being banned from my bedroom when he peed on my bed and shreded my blanket after the b/f stayed the night the first time. I wound up marrying the guy who my bunny played games with =)
Great pet - he fell ill when we moved, and died at 9 years old. Avg life span is supposedly 6 years, but I've heard of up to 14 when fixed, boxed train, and taken outside. I used to take my bunny to parks - he came when called (usually - again, think toddler). He hated the car ride, but I usually walked and he was fine.
I now have two children, two and infant, so have not tried to get another bunny as my two year old takes up any time my infant doesn't! But in a few years, I will definately get another one, possibly adopt one as I know there is a need for adoptive bunny-moms and I've been told older bunnies are easier to box train than young ones.
From what I have heard they are fantastic pets. My cavvy savvy vet sells them, she also sells the smallest breed available, netherland dwarf rabbits. Rabbits do not like to be held as much as guinea pigs do so keep that in mind. Remember, just like guinea pigs, you need a bigger cage when you get another rabbit.
My Aunt breeds Hollands. They're very sweet bunnies and very funny to watch. I'd definitely reccommend them.
I've got a mini lop and he is the sweetest and most gentle rabbit. He follows me and my dog around and loves to be petted. He is my first rabbit, but I'm happy with my decision to take him from a moving family. We are in the process of litter training.
I'm not trying to be meddlesome, but it seems like you have A LOT of pets. I mean, how can you pay proper attention to all of them?
my old dwarf was MEAN.. but thats because of the home she lived in before me.. she would growl and attack you.. she got better though.. she got to the point where she would let you pick her up and pet her.. give her a bath and play with her big boyfriend (didnt do anything) lol.
but before you get a rabbit check its old family history.. see what it has gone through so you know what your next 8 years is going to be like! thats how old she was when she passed away.. now her bf is depressed :[

Are hedghogs baby porkupines?

my cousin and i are fighting on weather or not a hedghog is a baby porkupine or not.i thing its a totally diffrent speices but not my cousin of coarse.
Answers:
no
No, you are right. Hedghogs and porcupines are different species entirely! :)
they are way different. Here is a few sites to show him/her. Plus people have Hedgehogs for pets I dont think people would keep a Porcupine as a pet at all.
different species
Nope. They're not related to one another at all. Hedgehogs are part of the shrew family.
quite clearly your cousin has either never seen a hedgehog, or never seen a porqupine as they are so obviously not related only a complete twit could make that mistake. Though possibly your cousin is a complete twit.
No
No way! A hedgehog isn't even close to a porcipine! A porcipine has long, needle-like quills, and the hedgehog has short, non-needle-like quills. Besides, hedgehogs are in the shrew family! Your cousin is WAY wrong!
no
NO.
A hedgehog isn't even in the same FAMILY species as a porcupine. A guinea pig IS related to a porcupine though.

Are hedgehogs non allergenic?

Answers:
Most people, actually are in fact allergic to hedghogs. I'm personally not, but my friends ENTIRE family is. Especially if you get stabbed by the little quills. Gives you hives in some cases.
I've heard that, yes. However, as I have no allergies myself, I'm probably not the best judge!
even tho the hadgrhog has little fur some one could still be allergic to the dandgrif on there skin. some people are just allergic to any kind of aniamal.
There has been cases of people being allergic to hedgehogs. Although they have quills, they also have lots of underbelly hairs and skin flakes off their backs. Unfortunately, only way to tell is after you handle them.

Are Hamsters stupid?

Answers:
There is no such thing as a living thing that is stupid. Everything that is alive have the necessary intelligence for surviving in its nature. A hamster may appear less intelligent next to a dog, but they are solitary animals that do not aim to please. The most common misconception is that because hamsters are so self-involved, they cannot be taught anything, and that's actually true! If you want somethign that you can interact with and even train, get a social animal (such as a mouse or rats). Hamsters are much rather enjoyed by people who don't expect "intelligent" things from them.
Most defintely not, unfortunely. My hamster is always figuring out new ways to escape his cage. At this point, it is duct taped shut and has a large dictionary on top to keep him from escaping..
Of course not!! My hamster Scratch can climb up the stairs in my house. My other hamster Minnie can ride the wheel when she's on the other side of it(like on the outside).
NO, to my surprise when I got a hamster I was surprised at how smart they were. My hamster loved to chase peoples feet. lol.
They're rodents. They're not einsteins and very few will ever learn to read, but they have evolved to be extremely tenatious and clever when it comes to escaping and finding food.
? ! *SMACK* *SMACK* *SMACK* What is wrong wit you?
you want the hamsta' to do yore homework or sumthin'?
**snapping fingers**
( hey Bugsy, put a contract on this goomba, kapeesh?)
no they are great escape artists. but they are small animals hence they have a small brain, and a small heart, which is why they die easily of a heart attack if frightened.
