i have 2 synire hamsters and wat kind of flowers or grass can i feed them

I give my hamsters dandelion leafs and clovers, but i make sure they have not got any pesticides of them and then i wash them under the tap for 5 mins and then give them to my hamsters. My hamsters love them and they can never get enough of them.

hamsters can not eat flowers and i would not recommend feeding them grass from out side, it could have pesticides, and dog or cat wee on it. Stick to a commercial hamster food mix and a small supply of fresh fruit and veg.

Another guinea pig question?
hi i have a guinea pig question and i was wondering if it would be ok to keep a guinea pig in a plastic hard container it is really big it could probley fit 5 guinea pigs in there but i only want one and would it be alright to only get one guinea pig

It is fine as long as it has air holes in it. Also have you thought about how you are going to put the water bottle in there. I think they make water bottles with suction cups that you can stick to the side of it. Just make sure the guinea pig has access to everything it needs. It is perfectly fine to just have one.

The biggest plastic tubs are not even close to big enough for one pig. You need a minimum of 7.5 sq. feet (sounds bigger than it really is).
Will it kill your pig to live in a tub? Possibly not. Is it good for your pig? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
It's all about you, do you just want your pig to survive or do you want a healthy pig?
C%26C cages are cheap, big, and you can design them anyway you want. Please consider making one of these for you piggie.

At 14-2/5Hx16-1/4Wx26-1/10L it is almost large enough but then you have the ventilation issues to deal with and on top of that it is $45! You can buy a box of grids (from the orginization section also at Target) for $15. There are enough grids to make a 2 grid (28 inch) by 4 grid (56 inch) cage. You should be able to find a 4x8 sheet of coroplast (corrugated plastic) at a sign shop for around $20 dollars. It is terribly easy to assemble and WAY more fun to watch the piggies in than some stuffy old tub.
And you could only get one pig, but don't you like having friends around? Your piggy does too so get a same sex pair or make sure one of them is spay/neutered.

2. Go to your local petstore - they have heaps of chewy wooden treats and fun things for them. Never get a guinea pig ball, they may cause back problems.
3. Go to your local hardware store - get some 4 inch diameter PVC piping and cut it up into 45cm pieces. This is great for tunnels.
4. Try some of the following things that you can do from home:
a) Get a non-scented toilet roll and stuff with hay and your guinea pigs favourite food
b) Get an old sock and stuff a tennis ball at the end of it, fill the rest with hay.
c) Use cardboard boxes to make little igloos.
d) Get some big paper bags, guinea pigs will often use these as hidy tunnels
e) Towel tents - drape a towel over the corner of your hutch to form a tent
f) Crumpled-Up Pieces of Paper - Very simple, but the piggies love them. Plain paper is better. They will probably chew on it and eat it. Occasional paper eating is okay.
g) Sheet of Newspaper - Also very simple, but a big hit. Good to chew on, crawl under, play tug-of-war with. Make sure there are no staples. Most newspaper is made with soy-based dyes which are safe for the pigs. Check with your newspaper company if you are not sure.
h) Toilet Paper and Paper Towel Cardboard Spools - Stuff some Timothy Hay in them and they make great treats. Be sure to cut a slit down the length of any tube so that a playful, curious piggie won't get stuck, like the piggie in the photo to the right.

It is probably mange mites. Don't worry it is easily treatable. You need to get some ivermectin, you can get this from a feed store, or from an online catalogue. It is made for cattle, however it is widely known by good pig owners that it is the best solution for the problem.

I have not seen a flea spray for guinea pigs, but your vet may have one or be able to suggest one.
In the mean time you can give your guina pig a bath and remove the fleas by hand with a flea comb.
Do not use products ment for dogs or cats, they can kill your guinea pig.
Firstly how do you know that she has ticks/fleas? Scratching may not mean that she has any problem, excessive scratching means she probably has something but with your description it is too hard to tell.
Secondly do not get any sprays from a pet store, go to an exotic vet. They will be able to properly diagnose your baby and give the correct treatment. Different parasites need different medicines, mostly it is ivermectin.
Please add details as to whether or not you have seen a vet and what symptoms she possesses.

Animal that gets along with pet rats?
I live in a one bedroom apartment with rats. I'd like another pet that's personable like a cat, but wont be a danger around my rats. What would be a good pet for me?

An extra part to the question about hamster cages.?
Does it take a long while for a hamster to get acquainted with a new cage? I'm moving her from a small barred cage to hopefully something cool and big... The place is sure to dwarf my Campbells Russian Dwarf.. o.o. I hope she doesn't get lost...

Give her a day or two to adjust, where you only handle her a little if at all. Also, use some bedding from her old cage so the new one will have a familiar smell. She should adjust all right; chances are she moved from one cage to another when you got her.
Put some of the dirty bedding from the old cage into the new cage and your hamster will feel at home.
And I hope you don't use cedar or pine shavings in the cage as bedding..both are very bad for the hamster.
Use a product called "Carefresh" a paper product and completely safe.

It may take a few days to a week to get used to the new cage, your hamster will have to mark the cage as hers and leave her scent here and there, but she will love it i promiise. the bigger the cage, the happier she will be.
1-2 days to adjust
hamsters only take 4 hours to get accustomed and comfortable in their new cage.make sure the same rules still apply and it will be happy just like he was in the other cage.
