I strongly suggest that you do not invest in a ferret. I work in a pet store and do not carry them becuase not only are they messy and give off a smell, they can be very unpridctable but can bit and be nast. Why not a small animal like a rabbit, guinea pig, or rat. These animals are very inteligent, you can train them and are more docile
From personal experience, if you want a ferret, you best be prepared. They require constant attention and constant cleaning. Not to mention the smell was horrible and travelled though the entire house. Ours was so sweet but just took up to much energy and time that most people do not have. The ferret alone for us was $100 and the cage around $150.
We ended up giving it up to a breeder. Good luck with yours.
First of all ferrets are like having a cat accept that they could bite you one a while. They probally cost about $80.
I have five ferrets. Yes they cost some money but if u know the right people you should get them at a good price. i say go for a baby not a 6yr old. babies are easier to train and get good habits and lost the bad habits. try looking up ferrets and go to ferrets.com.
i love my ferret, they're not like a dog that you need to be home for every day as long as you have a large cage for it with a bowl of food and water inside, only thing i reccomend for the smell is not use the reccommended sod or chipped paper for its litter, i use multi-cat odor control litter, and i dont smell the ferret at all through out my house, neither does anyone who comes over. they are difficult to potty trail but when they do go to the bathroom its in a corner and its easy to clean up, doest stain the carpet. i've left on a few weekend vacations and just left my ferret with an extra bowl of food and extra water and he's been fine. they are VERY entertaining creatures, and i walk mine as if it were a dog.. i reccomend one if you're looking for something that doesnt require a lot of maitenance, and as for a 6 yr old one i would stay away from an older one because they dont live very long to begin with. i bought mine for 100 bux and got a large cage, food, and everything i needed out the door for 200. hope this helps! o and they also get along well with small dogs too
If your going to get a ferret, you should get a baby one. Ferret's usually only live between 4-7 years. A 6 year old has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. They are very cute and intelligent. They need to be play with all the time and it is best to have at least two of them because there social animals. You will all so need to get them fix and descented. The price can range between $100-$500. After you get all the stuff for them. Good luck!!
Ferrets are awesome pets but they require a lot of time and attention because they are very social. They need to be able to run around and play for at least 3-4 hours every day. They also smell you can buy deodrant and spray but it dosent really cover up the scent. Ferrets are really fun pets to have but I reccomend that if you get a ferret you get a baby and not a 6 yr. old. Babies are way easier to potty train, leash train and to teach tricks to. Also ferrets are very expensive so if you get a baby you will be able to have it longer. My ferret cost $120 for just the ferret then the cage was $200 but that was for a big one then all the stuff they needed was another like $180 to $200. I think you would have a lot of fun with a pet ferret as long as your prepared for the responsibility.
Good luck
Ferrets are great pets, take my word for it! I had 3, and they're so cute. If you treat them properly they grow attached to you, they also love running around. I got my ferrets at a pet store, and they all cost 300$ no matter what age? The prices all depend on the store, some have it cheaper then others, no matter which country?
