That is not true at all. Hamsters hearing is better than humans, but their visions is really poor, so they use their whiskers, nose w/e they can to get to things. Also, hamsters squeak when they`re in pain, stressed, etc.
Only when they fall in the forest when there's no one around
i dont know about them being deaf. but yes, they make noises. my hamster cries/squeaks when its hot. ha

Hamsters can hear really well, they can hear things you may not hear, however they have poor vision.
They will squeak, when startled, scared, or in pain, but are generally quiet when they are happy.
In fact the most noise my little guy makes is when he is running on his wheel or snawing on something in his cage.
Of course they aren't deaf :). They can hear just like most mammals.

They can hear better than you and I. They are actually kind of noisy at night, with their wheel...or did you mean sounds from their mouths? If so, then yes they do squeak. Did you hear this from the same person who told you that your hamster would die if you got it's tail wet?
They are not deaf. And for the noise they make noise but mainly when they are active like digging in their bedding. Not squeaking noises. They usually just squeak when you pick them up at first.
Hamsters are not deaf, they are partially blind, they maneuver around by using their whiskers and sensitive nose and ears to move around.
Hamsters squeak to warn or it is telling you its angry, and does not like how you are handling it, or the one whom is disturbing it to back off.

LOL! you were close! Hamsters are infact more or less blind, they can only visually make out objects close up to them, so infact they rely on sound and smell. Their hearing is probably there most strongest scense. Have you ever notice a hamster suddenly "freeze" for no reason and stay like that for ages, almost like they are scared? They are not actually scared but have picked up on a strange noise and they are trying to work out what it is.
They have very good hearing and make a squeeking noise
they aren't deaf when ever i open my hamster cage door it makes a loud noise and scares her and my brother was holding her and well he droped her and she made a loud noise
