About Pygmy Hedgehogs?

I know that hedgehogs aren't rodents, but they aren't cats, dogs, reptiles, or birds, or horses either. Anyway, how can I find a breeder online maybe one who ships animals. What size cage does it need, what is a good online store to buy things for them, etc. I have checked all the local pet stores and even the petsmart near me and they don't have anything and they NEVER have hedgehogs, so my only option is shipping.
Answers:
First off, try petfinder.com to see if there are any hedgehogs available at your local shelters.
Second, look in small animal magazines or do a google search for breeders in your area. Do not get a hedgehog shipped to you. It can cause a lot of stress on the animal, which can lead to health problems, injuries, or death. Always visit the breeders home to see how they take care of their hedgehogs. Do not buy one if the breeder keeps them in dirty cages, does not let you see where they are kept, does not let you hold the one you are interested in ,or does not offer a health guarentee.
It needs a good size cage. A glass aquarium should be a 40 breeder or larger. A metal wire cage should be one designed for rabbits or guinea pigs and should have a solid bottom.
Try amazon.com, petco.com, or petsmart.com to purchase supplies.
Your only option is not shipping, it just might take you longer to find someone local. A breeder, shelter, or private party is your best bet. It is safer for the animal.
try petfinder.com or craigslist.org

Allow a bare minimum of 2-3 square feet of floor space (bigger is better).
Many types of cages can be used - but always avoid wire floors and be cautious about the spacing of wire sided cages - the narrower the better.
Aquariums, plastic commercial cages or even modified plastic storage bins can be used. Clear plastic storage bins can be modified to allow adequate ventilation (a row of holes around the top of the bin and/or in the lid works okay).
Bedding: aspen shavings or newer alternatives to wood shavings can be used, but avoid cedar shavings (see Top Ten Alternative to Cedar Shavings for more information). Pine is probably okay, especially kiln dried, but there are alternatives available. Some people use indoor outdoor carpeting such as Astroturf (using a heat source to seal the edges to threads do not come loose) to line the cage.
