Advice for people with small animals for pets.?

For anyone with small pets like hamsters, mice and rabbite etc..
I have a one year old male syrian hamster and recently found out at my local veterinary surgery there is a specialist who specifically deals in smaller animals.
As my hamster has just turned one I thought I would book him in for a basic health check.
I would really advise people out there with smaller animals to do this. Okay, smaller animals dont live as long, but illnesses or lumps and bumps can easily go undetected until its to late.
It was a real comfort to know that Harry is in tip top condition, and I will be doing this every 6-12 months now. It could well help to prolong a little animals life, and was not expensive either, only拢12.
Call up your local vets today to see if they do yearly consultations on small pets like they do on cats and dogs. Im so glad we did x

i don't have any small pets i just have a cat and a dog.but when i go to my vet i see guinea pigs in there ALL the time..our vet does small animals and is the only one in our area that does deal with them.its great to see that people are not just thinking of small animals as "throw away pets" anymore...congrats on Harry's clean bill of health...
OK i know u want to help people but why post it here this is for questions.
You should post this if you really want to help someone on a pet forum
with hamsters only living about 2 years yearly ones dont make much sence but maybe every 3-6 months
