Animal that gets along with pet rats?

I live in a one bedroom apartment with rats. I'd like another pet that's personable like a cat, but wont be a danger around my rats. What would be a good pet for me?
Answers:
Cats %26 rats can live together with a few precautions. Make sure the cage is too heavy for the cat to knock it over %26 that the cage door closes securely.
When you give your rats 'free range' time, you can put the cat into another room with some food, toys %26 litterbox. You're not being mean to the cat, who would have the run of your apt. most of the time.
We have cats %26 rats. For the most part, the cats are mildly curious @ best except for our kitten, who actually had his paw nipped recently when he kept patting the girls' cage. They're more curious about our mice. Rats are also pretty good about taking care of themselves, but we still don't take any chances. We love all our guys %26 it's worth it to be careful.
If your rats are in cages that are secure then you don't have much to worry about
a puppy will grow to like animals that are part of his family.
hmm, a small pet, like a hamster.
Maybe a rabbit.
boa constrictor
Any animals prey instinct will be triggered by a running rat. The way around that is to get a younger animal and train them to leave the rats alone. If you get a kitten you can use the waterbottle technique to train it that the rats are not to be touched.
