Alternative to bedding?

I ran out of bedding for my guinea pigs tonight, and I don't have a car to go to the store.
Is there anything I can use instead for two days?
Answers:
Lots and lots of newspaper, there can never be to much, and if you have old (bug clean) towels those work great.
I don't use bedding at all for my pigs, I use a number of layers of newspaper under two layers of towels. This is actually far cheaper then bedding, it smells better, and it's better on their feet and well as it doesn't cause anything un healthy.
Towels only need to be shaken out every few days (depending on the size of cage, and how many pigs) and then once you shake all the hay and guinea pig beans off you can put them in the wash just like any things else. Only use bleach however and no fabric softener.
Shredded paper.
Use a mixture of paper shreds, old newspaper, and wood
chips. Hope that helps!
Use a layer of towels and then a fleece blanket over the towels. You will need to replace the towels tomorrow and shake out the fleece. The fleece will wick the urine through and the towels will absorb it. That means that your piggie won't be walking in their own pee. They will love the feel of fleece!
You should let the guinea pig sleep in your bed. And you should go sleep on the couch till you can get some more bedding from the pet store.
You can use newspaper, you will probably have to clean it out every day or so. Just shred the paper up (if you have a shredder it would be even better) and place it in. You will have to make sure that the newspaper isn't coloured, as colour isn't good for them and they may get a bit dirty from running through the ink on the newspaper. It would probably be safer if you use plain, white paper and that way your piggys will not be dirty. Alternatively you could just use hay throughout the whole cage. Another thought is towels or fleece, you will just need to shake the towels or fleece out every day or so and they will need a wash after a few days. So here are your choices:
1. Shredded newspaper
2. Shredded plain paper
3. Lot's of hay
4. Layers of towels
5. Layers of fleece
Good Luck!!
just lay newspaper out , shred some up for thir bed .
When I ran out of bedding for my hamsters, I used hand-shredded paper towels. A couple of sheets should do the trick. It's easy to clean up and the hamsters hands and feet didn't get dirty from newsprint. Just change the soiled spots every day.
it is not a wise idea to use newspapers. i did a lot of research when i first started breeding hamsters. i read from many sites that newspapers are not recommended as newsprint is dangerous to hamsters and will discolour their fur. Also never use cotton wool as bedding because these trap hamsters limbs and when digested can block stomachs as they do not dissolve when a hamster eats it.
you may want to consider using plain shredded paper.
shredded paper and old towels or shirts
newspapers. just shred them up and it should be ok.
You could use toilet paper. That's what I used when I ran out. It should be fine.
