Another hamster question oh oh?

hi i have a question and here it is i got to syrine hamsters about 1 month ago and i got them a 10 gallon tank and it was good then but they are starting to chew on the cage and keep getting out on top i got a screened top that goes on it and everything but the question is can i connect tubes to a ten gallon tank or can i get a free cage any where in ga or like classifed adds thanks
Answers:
You don't need a new cage, honestly, unless you really want one. Just set a rock or a paperweight in the center of the screen top. If they can't lift it, they can't get out.
As for the chewing, yeah, they do that, it's normal. Try getting them some wooden chew sticks from the pet shop, to distract them from chewing the tank.
Edit: And if the hamsters were raised together from a young age, they can get along just fine.
Okay, first off, it's spelled Syrian, and THEY ARE SOLITARY HAMSTERS, WHICH MEANS THEY WILL KILL EACH OTHER IS KEPT IN THE SAME CAGE. You need to separate them now before one or both of them wind up dead.
I'm not sure exactly what your question is. You want to know if you can connect another cage to the tank using tubes? Yes, you can.
Please get another cage and separate the hamsters now!
Edit: Rustyredwhatever is wrong. It doesn't matter if they were siblings and were never apart, when they reach maturity, they will become very territorial between each other and they will fight to the death, no matter how much room you give them. You need to separate them before they begin to fight.
Look it up, any good hamster website will tell you the same thing: Syrian hamsters are solitary and need to be kept one to a cage.
look in the classified adds or go to like petco and get a 20 dollar hamster cage
have you ever heard of punctuation.
well, umm.you could buy the plastic tubes, and put them in the tank so they can have fun in there, i did that and i put a little house thing from my old cage at the top of it and they love it...so try buying tubes or use paper towel rolls and stick them together and put it in the tank
Try freecycle.org to ask for a freebie. Be sure to follow site guidelines for posting.
Syrian hamsters are solitary animals so they will fight to the death i would seperate them ASAP! I don't think you can attach tubes to the cage well you might be able to but i am not really sure! If they keep getting out of the cage then i would buy a new cage so they don't get hurt or anything!
Yeah I had syrains live together also Maybe you could tape the tubes together
no you need a crittertrail cage, aquariums breed mold and bacteria, and syrians live alone, they will kill each other after 3 months of age. aquariums have no cross ventilation, they are for fish.
My hamster bites on the bars on the cage it's normal it just means it wants to get out and our hamster escapes too but we put a book on top of it so the lid won't open.
