Here try this :
should answer just about every question you have!
1. pics of pig breeds and color/coats
http://exoticpets.about.com/od/guineapig...
2. Look in the local paper, check with the pet shelter, they take in more than dogs and cats!
3.a site for more info and cages with pictures and space requirements
http://www.guineapigcages.com/buycc.htm...
You can make payment arrangements with the seller directly if you can't buy on line!
As an idea how about one of those portable play yards they make for little kids? You might have to modify it a little(the spaces in the "fence" might be to big and the pigs might escape!) I have one from Babies R Us that was about $65

We used square trashburners as cages. you can take them out side and set them down. That way the pigs can munch on grass right through the bottom of the cage. You end up with square shaped bare places but they love being outside! The wire bottom isn't to great on the feet so you have to be careful when moving them around. You could get one at Home Depot type store.
4. which is cheaper? shop and see! check with a small "mom %26 pop" store you might find them a better price! Plus a small local store usually knows the breeders! Check out the Piggy rescues sites they may have one in your area!
good luck!

2. PetSmart (check and see if there's a Freecycle community near you [ Freecycle.org ] )
3. if you're talking an aquarium, you'd want at least a 20 gallon - long for one, but for two i'd recommend a large cage, ones that are made for ferrets work great, or you can go to your local hardware store and make one yourself (for WAY cheaper). The ideal cage would have 2 or 3 levels, and would be at least 2 feet by 2 feet.
4. Petco would probalby be cheaper, but if you want to be sure of health (and save yourself the vet bills) I'd go with PetSmart. But I'd check at the humane society first.
1. not off the top of my head.
2. Petsmart is likely to have healthy, but never held piggs. I know nothing about petco.
3. For space, get the biggest pen you can afford. Cages are expensive, and the effort put into making one will save you big $. My 2 pigs are in a 5' wide x 3' long x 1' high pen that we made. If you can find something for the bottom, you could make the sides out of wire closet shelving and zip strips. the only tool we needed was a little hand saw to cut the shelving to size. for the bottom, we used an old plastic sign that had a bullet hole in it. We just covered the hole, made the sides, and threw in some bedding. anyone can do it. A bigger pen means that we only need to do a complete cage cleaning every 7-10 days. The size pens that are available in pet stores are too small (guinea pigs can't climb well, so look at the size of the bottom, not the height of the cage) so would need to be cleaned MUCH more frequently to avoid odor. Be sure NOT to get a wire bottom cage like some made for rabbits or you will have big vetrinary bills for your babies.
4. call the local stores, prices vary by location.

2. Neither. If you have looked through pet finder, try craigs list, your local newspaper etc. You need to rule out all possible solutions before going to a pet store.
3. If you can't make a C%26C cage then you are going to get stuck. Most (if not all) pet store cages are way to small, 2 guinea pigs need 10.5sq ft, 1 needs 7.5sq ft.
4. An adoption centre is the cheapest.

2. I have no idea, because I do not have a Petco or Petsmart near me! lol! But, I've heard better things about Petsmart! suggest you adopt a gp from a rescue shelter!
3. You need AT LEAST 7.5 square feet for 2 piggies! Here's a great site:

4. I would think Petco is cheaper, as they are not as popular.
*Don't go with a cheaper store though! Go to the store with HEALTHIER guinea pigs!
Hope this helps!
Good luck!
