I can be all grown up when answering questions, but when it comes to mice, I am a small kid... I just heard a mouse in my room for the first time in my life, and now I am freaked out and cannot fall asleep... :( I am very anti-killing, and a cat is not an option. Any ideas? (Assurance that they are not dangerous to/interested in scaring humans will help as well ;))

I used to be mildly afraid of rats/rodents, and now I actually own 4 rats. They are surprisingly lovable and harmless little animals, and never bite. They each have their own personalities. I believe mice are quite similar- harmless, just looking to survive.
You (Or someone else) could try putting food out and capturing it, and then set it outside. You could try sticky pads, which attract them and they get stuck to. But I don't know if you can ever get their feet pried off the pads or not.
They are dangerous. Wild mice carry disease; period.
Get a large bucket or tupperware bucket at least a foot and a half, or more tall and put some food/crackers/cheese/peanut butter inside. Just leave it sit there and in a few days you will have a mouse.
Unfortunately, it will give itself a heart attack because mice have weak hearts but it is the most humane way of trapping, works, and honestly, if just put outside if living, will just come back to your house.
Ha ha ha, I could imagine... if ur in a rental appt y dont u give a complain or better shift the room ;)
go buy a very humane trap where you can lure the mouse with food... then let it go. i don't know where to get one sry
Get a cat or borrow your neighbors!
You can try to set up a mouse trap, but I know that's inhumane.
If you keep your bedroom door closed, he will most likely stay put in your room, which would make it easier to catch him. You may also want to see if there is somehow a hole in the wall or window screen indicating how he may have got in.
You may have to just keep a glass jar or box close to your bed and trap him when you see him, and then place him back into the wild.
Good luck!
omg smoosh the f****** thing with a hammer before it finds another one and they have babies and then you will have mice all over!!!!!!!!!!...
http://www.havahart.com/ they have traps that you can buy that dont kill the animal also you can make one get a large bowl or box make a ramp so the mouse can get in put a thing of peanut butter in the bottom of the box or bowl this way the mouse smells it .. the animal will go up the ramp fall into the box or bowl and be stuk untill you let it out.. if your using a bowl put butter around the rim so its slippery and it cant clim out.. thats how we catch our hampsers when they escape
they have mouse traps at wal-mart that are no-kill...Its just a small box and when they go inside it shuts and you can take them somewhere outside and let them go!
try cheese/mouse traps :) I tried it and it worked during one night. Good luck :)
will just get some sticky traps that is what I do.Try it!
Donno. You are freaked out of your wits, but don't like the idea of killing it.You should see a shrink. You are confused.
Don't worry about being humane.It is a rat !!
Get a live mouse trap and then take the mouse about two miles away from your house and drop it off into the woods. My sister is the same way about her apartment when she got mice. Its easy enough to put a small drop of peanut butter in the back of a live trap and leave it in a corner of the room under something and you'll have a mouse in the morning.
get a deep plastic tub and put a spoon ful of peanut butter on a towel with something for it to clim up and in on. you can also buy a humane trap and use the peanut butter too. don't worry about the little mouse being dangerous it's just looking for shelter and some food.
try going to your local pet store and ask them if they have any traps for mice that won't harm them. But, please don't kill it, it's just as scared as you are. Or put something sticky ( peanut butter, melted cheses) at the bottom of a long container, and put a towel over it. Check every 10-20 minutes or so, to see if it's in there.
buy a "mouse box" at walmart.. lets her in, but not out..put penut butter in it..when inside then take it far away form your house and set the box on its vertial bottom and the door will open allowing it to run away freely
